Bedrooms in Small Apartments

A bedroom is a private oasis in one’s home. It reflects the occupant’s likes, interests and personality. The keywords for a bedroom design are comfort and privacy. In a small apartment, usually there is one master bedroom and a smaller one for the children, and, if the apartment is large enough, a guest bedroom. The master bedroom will be shared by two people with different requirements. The age of the children dictates the design of the children’s room and the guest bedroom can double as a hobby room.

The main components in bedroom design are the cot, utility furniture, and wardrobe storage. Besides these basics, space for a work desk and a small seating area with an entertainment centre with stereo and TV is also essential.

The master bedroom: More often than not, you may want your bedroom to double as a private retreat where you can read, listen to music…http://www.sitagita.com/view.asp?id=9003

i have some close guy friends that could be my roommmate. obviously, i'd have to pick only one.

Unless you can build walls…. partitions are the next best thing….

My guess would be that in different parts of the country they are called different things. I have referred to them as mother-in-law apartments.

CLASSY… a few JUST a FEW small but CLASSY touches and pieces of furniture.

Like a wrap around couch, and small end table in the living room.. a SMALL glass topped table in the dining with only a couple of chairs. AND fresh flowers. Sounds great actually.

I'm all about only using one or two classy pieces.

A beautiful bedroom throw on the bed, a couple of fake fur rugs and VOILA…

I loved seeing your avi and seeing the classy fedora.. That just fits the picture.

Well, do you have money to buy a bigger apartment?? If not, you could try re-arranging things. That would probably help.
    I hope this helps!!!
P.S. I don't know if it will but, as I said, I hope this helps!!

Why can't u keep 2 dogs and a baby in a one bedroom apartment???? we did it with 2 dogs that size and 2 cats. worked out just fine for us…and our dogs love our kids. we walk almost daily and mine have a yard to play in. if u worry about how the dogs will be with baby there are good books out there to help u in training dog for baby…I believe. and remember the first few months are stressful for everyone inculding animals. maybe you have friend that have babies who will bring the babies over to ur house…if the dogs sniff and walk away thats good… if the baby cries and the dog comes to check it out fine. dogs should not charge..nose like ya know kinda poke at. u can talk to ur vet about bring home baby talk to trainers ect. and pick up some good books on it.

i see no problem in bring home baby to dogs or cats..animals are good for kids help in avioding alergies. and good for their learning.
congrats. and i hope u keep the dogs…

    babycenter.com
and babyzone.com both have info on dogs and babies.

Adopt from your local shelter. Save a life. For every cat and dog you buy, one must die. Adopt. You won't regret it and the two of you will never look back. There's nothing like seeing that cat or dog walk out the door into the sunset with his new family to his new forever home. Trust me, there's nothing as wonderful as that.

When I was renting and in apartments, that was almost my exact situation. My first dog was a Shepherd mix and my other dog was medium sized, which everyone is going to tell you is a bad situation. That is entirely up to the person who owns the dogs and owns the apartment. If you're going to sit on your butt and expect the dogs to exercise themselves in the apartment, then yes, it's a horrible idea and go ahead and listen to everyone who is telling you that it's a bad idea. I don't expect my dogs to exercise themselves ever though. I'm very, very active and I kept my dogs with me for a good part of the day and they got tons of exercise even when I lived in an apartment. If you're an active person and you'll keep them active, then it's completely fine. It has nothing to do with the size of the apartment. I live in a house now and have a fenced in yard but I still don't just throw the dog out in the yard and expect him to just entertain himself. He's my responsibility and I get out there and exercise him outside the yard, which is what all dogs need regardless of where you live.

If you call the utility company with the address, they can tell you what the past usage has been. I have done this with both houses and apartments.

consider storage ottomans and storage benches and storage coffee tables. there are even storage dining chairs.

    also consider:

personally i tend not to use large hard storage bins (you know, the plastic kind, although for holiday wrapping paper it's traditional to use those however as you can see from the pic you can also put holiday wrapping paper in soft plastic storage)
